- Summit elevation 14,410 ft (NPS/USGS figure). 28 major glaciers; the greatest single-peak glacial system in the contiguous US.
- The summit is a technical glacier climb, not a hike: a climbing permit and the annual climbing fee are required on
  glaciers or above about 10,000 ft; NPS gives 3-4 days for a climb. About 10,000 people attempt it each year.
- Paradise 5,400 ft; Sunrise 6,400 ft, the highest point reachable by vehicle.
- Skyline Trail loop 5.5 mi, about 1,700 ft gain, about 4.5 hours. Myrtle Falls 1 mi, 100 ft. Nisqually Vista 1.2 mi, 200 ft.
- No timed-entry reservation anywhere in the park in 2026 (NPS, 25 Feb 2026). Entrance pass required; card payment only.
- 2026: Sunrise Road closed to private vehicles for the rest of the season after the Grand Park 2 fire; Grove of the
  Patriarchs closed since the 2021 flood; no public road access to Carbon River and Mowich Lake since April 2025.
- Seattle to the Nisqually Entrance is about 2 hours. No public transport into the park. No gas inside the park.
- Tire chains required in every vehicle 1 Nov - 1 May. Pets not allowed on trails. Drones banned park-wide.
